Learned to ski at Georgian Peaks Ski Club. It is my home club and is located on the Niagara Escarpment outside of Thornbury, Ontario. My parents and grandparents taught me how to ski on a snowmaking mound at the bottom of the hill. In the following years, I became a regular on the beginner trail, Baystreet.
Having been in the ski programs for a couple of years, it was around this time we began to race.
My family moved to Verbier, Switzerland, for the year. I went to the local school, played hockey, and skied with the ski club. We skied everywhere in Verbier and had weekly fun races and junior competitions in the region.
In my final year as a U16 athlete, I qualified to represent Canada at the Whistler Cup. Considered one of the most competitive junior races in the world.
I graduated from the National Ski Academy in Collingwood, ON. Was awarded the Senior Academic Award for the highest GPA. I spent three years at the school as a second-generation student graduating at 16 years old.
While racing with a New Zealand and Colorado-based team called TCRA my results led to my nomination to the Canadian Youth Olympic Team. At the games in Lillehammer, Norway, I competed in five events. Concluding in a 4th place result in the Team Event.
NCAA All-American in Giant Slalom at the College Championships in Stowe, Vt. Helped Middlebury win its’ first carnival in 14 years. I was also named to the All-East team and earned honours as a Nescac and USCSA All-Academic Student.
Helped Middlebury Ski Team achieve its best season in decades. We were sitting in 3rd halfway through the NCAA championships before they were canceled due to the pandemic. These strong performances earned me the honours of the All-East Team. NESCAC and USCSA All-Academic.
Named to Canadian NextGen Group. Earned a start in my first WC in Schladming, Aut. Raced two more WC slaloms that season.
Graduated from Middlebury College Summa Cum Laude. Was again named All-East, NESCAC and USCSA All-Academic. Won the GS Middlebury Carnival Race in my last season with the team. Placed second in the Canadian Nationals GS and finished the NorAm season ranked 4th in SL.
Skiing with the Ontario Ski Team, I had several strong results earning me distinctive honours. I was crowned Canadian Champion in GS and runner-up in Slalom in March. My results on the NorAm circuit earned me a WC SL start position for the 23/24 season and a spot on the Canadian Ski Team. Lastly, I was named AOA Sporting Life Male Athlete of the Year.
