About me…
My name is Justin Alkier. I am a 24-year-old professional ski racer from Toronto, Canada. I grew up skiing at Georgian Peaks Ski Club with my family, and a weekend activity quickly turned into a passion. I later attended the National Ski Academy where I graduated at 16. With only one FIS season behind me, I decided to take a post-graduate year which eventually turned into a second year with TCRA, a ski team based out of New Zealand and Colorado. My results these two seasons led me to the NCAA Division I Ski Team at Middlebury College. While in school, I got my first taste of the World Cup competition in 2021, debuting in Schladming, AUT. In February 2022, I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.83 GPA majoring in Economics. I decided to follow my passion with total commitment and determination in ski racing. In 2022/2023, I skied with the Ontario Ski Team and as an invitee with the Canadian Team. I raced a World Cup, European Cups, and NorAM Cups. In March, I was crowned Canadian National GS Champion and Canadian SL Runner Up. Culminating the season, I earned a full-time SL start position for the 2023/2024 Word Cup through my ranking in the NorAM Cup. These achievements led to my nomination to next season's Canadian Alpine Ski Team. I aim to break through on the World Cup circuit and build towards the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics. My career has been unconventional, and I hope to inspire athletes and fans alike that there is more than one path to success in sports and life.
